Experience:
Student pilot or better.
Checkout: Renter Exam
C 172R-S and checkout with emphasis on new systems.
C172 transition pilots must complete a C172R renter exam
and complete an orientation
flight.
Currency: Three takeoffs and
landing within the previous 60 days. |

Experience
Private pilot or better and 100 hours total
time.
Checkout: Renter exam DA40 and minimum 2 hour
aircraft flight with AV-ED Flight Instructor, to include
slow flight, power off stalls, power on stalls with no
flaps and with T/O flaps, and engine failure procedures.
Emphasis also on constant speed propeller, Garmin
530/430, KAP 140 and VM 1000 Engine instrument cluster.
For Instrument rated pilots, checkout will include
holding patterns and approaches.
Currency:
Three takeoffs and landings within the previous 60
days.
Recommended for dispatch on an instrument
cross country, three instrument approaches in type to
touchdown within the previous 30 days or one instrument
approach to touchdown in type in the last 10

300 total time and 10 hours in aircraft with retractable
gear and constant speed prop OR instrument rated and
current with 10 hours in type.
Checkout:
With 5 hours in type, standard AV-ED instrument
checkout. Less than 5 hours in type, an AV-ED instrument
checkout and time to bring up to at least 5
hours.
Currency: Three takeoffs and
landings in type, within the previous 30
days.

Aircraft |
Experience:
Private Pilot or better and approved for
student pilot training. Checkout:
Must watch G1000 informational video. G1000
training with AV-ED instructor as follows: -Minimum
two hour training for VFR; 3 hours for IFR if no prior
C172/C182/DA40 experience. -Flight training may be
accomplished in either the Redbird FMX1000 simulator or
aircraft. -If checkout is performed in the Redbird
then a brief aircraft orientation checkout is
required. Note: GPS software trainers are available
for use on AV-ED
workstations. |
